Ordering a Bluestem lap steel
You may order an instrument directly using the options as presented below. After you have decided on exactly what you desire, you can e-mail me by using the contact information located at the bottom of this page. I'll outline the purchase process and provide an estimate as to when the instrument will be ready to ship, usually 4 to 6 weeks after an order is placed. After your lap steel is completed, I'll send a link to photos of the finished instrument.

Polished stainless steel and brass bridge assembly with through body string attachment
Split single coil pickup... Simply the best sounding pickup I've heard, but without the noise.

Solid brass bridge and nut for maximum tone
Each instrument is individually crafted and features quality construction with only the finest components and materials used. If I didn't think my laps offered something beyond what's currently offered I wouldn't build them.

Ebony headstock overlay with mother of pearl "Bluestem" script logo
22-1/2" scale length
Gotoh enclosed deluxe tuners
2" wide solid brass nut with 1-3/4" string spacing
Ebony fret board with 1/4" and 5mm mother of pearl position markers
24 wide profile 18% nickel-silver frets
Stainless steel and brass bridge assembly (2" string spacing at bridge)

Split single coil pickup composed of 2 individual 3 pole coils connected in a hum cancelling configuration
Pickup mounted in black beveled edge small oval scratchplate
Single 500K audio taper volume control with treble roll-off circuit and large custom volume knob
Stainless steel side mounted jack plate with 1/4" Switchcraft output jack
Stainless steel screws used at all body locations
Base price is $500.00 with USPS Priority 2 to 3 day shipping within U.S. and insurance included.
